We'll start by covering the principle of automation and scripting, so you'll understand why these practices are so crucial in today's IT world, and how they can help you be more productive and efficient.

Then we'll look back at the days before PowerShell, when MS-DOS and VBScript were the norm. After a look in the rear-view mirror, we'll talk about the birth of PowerShell, its history and the different versions of PowerShell. Finally, we'll talk about "Good reasons to learn PowerShell", to motivate you to learn the PowerShell language!
